The Heart of Chaos Review

The Heart of ChaosThe Heart of Chaos review by David Edwards

This series of novels by Gav Thorpe starts out strong but does not finish with the bag of the earlier two. The Heart of Chaos starts out good and strong but fades towards the end.

Kurt takes controls and travels to the north to confront the Chaos gods in order to become all powerful. Ursula becomes as single-minded in destroying Kurt as Kurt does her. Power and faith are at the very heart of this book.

Mind you as this book progresses I found the Kurt's struggle for power more interesting than Ursula's struggle to get an army. In grand style the portents and rivers of blood flow well enough to keep a battle seeker happy.

So if you read Claws of Chaos and Blades of Chaos you might as well read the final installment. But I did warn you I think either Gav Thorpe became disinterested in the book or the Editing fell apart at the end. Either way it is still a good series.
