Molly Gloss
Molly
Gloss is a writer currently most known for science fiction works. She is not
prolific by the standards of a science fiction writer, producing just three
novels and a handful of stories. Nevertheless, her works have gained some
honors. Her novel Wild Life won the James Tiptree Jr. Award for cross-gender or
Feminist fiction.
She has also received a 1996 Whiting Award as well as the PEN
Center West Fiction Prize. Her second most noteworthy novel might be The Dazzle
of Day which concerns Quakers on a multigenerational starship.
She lives in Portland, Oregon where she teaches writing and literature of the
American West at Portland State University.
