Skylark Three Review

Skylark Three by E. E. Doc SmithSkylark Three review by David Edwards

The second book in the Skylark series.  The main characters are still Seaton, Crane and Duquesne.  Well Seaton with the help of every brainy group he comes across gets even smarter.  Crane his best friend and second in command also an engineer.  Duquesne is still cutthroat and very daring.  In this one he is a bit more of a side story.

Skylark Three was originally written in 1948 just after the second world war and technology has won the war for the United States in the Pacific.  Doc Smith has used this much more aware world of technology to push further ahead with theories that are for a better term fantastic.

This is the second installment and the plot is smarter, faster and a little less action driven.  It is better written than  the original and stands the test of time.  It kept me interested.
