Trollslayer Review

Trollslayer by William King

Trollslayer review by Mr. Stuart A Benson

I wish I had started reading the Gotrek and Felix series in order. Having previously read Skavenslayer, Trollslayer was a gamble for me as there were aspects to Skavenslayer which made me slightly dubious about the rest of the series.

However, I found Trollslayer to be less predictable than book 2 in the series. This book is packed full of adventures, has quite a grim tone running throughout which makes you grow more and more concerned for the duo. Will they get through this battle, when will the next skirmish against the forces of Chaos occur? Of course, with hindsight, they're get through the battles - theres a whole series of books after this one so it's not likely that the unlikely couple will be killed off in the first book is it?

All the same, you don't think about the inevitable successes in combat when you are reading Trollslayer, as I mentioned before, the book has quite a grim theme which reels you in and keeps you concerned for their survival.
